Hello Everyone!!
The day has finally arrived – my hubby and I are going to drop off the radar for the next week!! We’re off to relax on the island of Mauritius – and believe me, relaxation is exactly what we need. Life has just been too busy lately!!! Hopefully our view will be something like this…..

Happy Friday Everyone!!
I am continuing on my RED Theme……. my first moodboard, as inspired by Leslie Shewring’s training that she gave us on BYW!! I decided to stick to red and white for this first moodboard (but maybe in the next few weeks I might step-out and add a splash of another colour…). I had great fun rummaging through my workspace, collecting ribbons, paper, cards, tape, clips, coasters and buttons. I then set-up my little studio in the diningroom and Voila!!! My study in red and white!
In case you’re wondering – the card above right with the trees and birds was designed and painted by my very talented sister, Caroline. She is a textile designer by day….. and every birthday and christmas she makes all of us in the family the most beautiful one-of-a-kind cards. I’ll share more of her cards with you in the future – I have a collection!!!
And no - that’s not the end of my RED theme. I’ll be working on some more ideas with gift-wrapping, Christmas decorations and table settings as we get closer to Christmas. Keep popping by!!

Hello Everyone!!
I promised you more on my “Inspiration in Red” theme. I am following a creative process which I will share with you in the weeks running up to Christmas. I sat and brainstormed what RED means to me, and here are the words that sprang to mind. I tried to edit out the words with negative connotations, as this is a happy time of year. I then challenged myself to use a variety of fonts and create a RED poster. An here it is…….

Hello Everyone! I must apologise for my absence these past few days. Life has been hectic and I decided not to post just for the sake of it….. rather when my creativity returned and I could share something worthwhile with you!!
Seeing as we are entering the Christmas season I have decided to focus a bit on the colour RED, as this is the colour that springs to mind when I think of Christmas. During Blogging Your Way, Leslie Shewring gave us so many ideas on mood boards and colour themes. I am going to spend some time in the next week following through with this RED theme and exploring my own creative process….. so please join me!
My first inspiration comes from my own photos. I have picked out an array of photos that I have taken over the past 6 years – focussing on RED in the images. These pictures take me from my home in Stellenbosch to Italy, France, the Maldives, Ireland, Scotland and Botswana. Wow – that statement alone makes me grateful for the opportunities to travel that I have enjoyed.
This has been a most interesting process – to pick out and focus on one colour. Tomorrow, in your daily life, take note of all the red that is around you. I don’t think we always notice it!!
I’ll be back soon with my next RED inspiration……… in the meantime have a lovely weekend!!
