Paper Runway: Entertaining

It’s time to share some Inspiration. I have recently discovered a few beautiful e-zines (digital magazines) on the internet. Some are American, some Australian and some British. I will share them with you over the next weeks, as I see inspiring images and ideas.

First is Paper Runway – an Australian quarterly publication, based on the love of paper. This magazine has been put together by a talented group of creatives, and is a showcase of ideas, products and stories that they believe will inspire their readers. Recently published was an edition entitled “Entertaining” (1) and the content, visuals and colour really excited me!

I want to highlight just a few articles to whet your appetite. “How to host the Perfect Celebration” (2) is a beautiful article with tips on planning, budget, invitiations, shopping, flowers, decor and music – and the photos are stunning. Makes you want to get up and throw a party!! Then there is an article about Paula Mills (3), a Cape Town born and now Melbourne based illustrator. Her work is really lovely and she has such an inspiring story of doing that which you really love. Off I went to look at her etsy shop lovelysweetwilliam to drool over her prints. Maybe one day….

The magazine is scattered with ideas for decor, table settings (4), some diy projects and even recipes!! A really worthwhile read.

Grab a cup of tea (and a slice of cake too if you have) and give yourself some “me-time” to read this lovely publication. And if you throw a party send me a picture!!

2012 Calendar

Good Morning All !! It’s Friday already. Why is it that when life is busy it feels as if you have even more to do – and somehow it all gets done…… whew!

I decided to make a 2012 Calendar. This is my first calendar (hopefully of many), and I decided to use a portfolio of images that I have been working on and with over the past few months. Here it is…

The calendar is printed on the lovely Italian cardstock that I use for most of my products. It has a wonderful texture and contains recyled paper and cotton. The individual pages are hand cut (by moi) and corners are rounded. The calendar hangs from a metal bulldog-clip, and is packaged in a celophane wrap with the lovely Twinery Twine. It will make a perfect gift!!

I already have great ideas for the 2013 calendar……

Loving Typography

Hello Everyone – I hope you’re enjoying your Thursday.

Today I want to share some inspiration with you. I am loving fonts and typography at the moment. There are so many possibilities when designing stationery or prints to use amazing fonts – and there are SO many out there. I am gradually adding to my font collection and getting more creative when I use them. I have found so many images of lovely fonts being used in a creative way on Pinterest - and here are a few of them to drool over!!
