A little bit of eye-candy!!!

I’m back!!! Hello everyone. I sort of slipped off the radar last week…… I had a few days last week were my soul was just not in the right place to blog, then I had my first market on Friday, so Thursday was hectic getting ready. The market went well, I met a few new customers, and just putting myself “out there” was an important step for me. I had a wonderful weekend in Pringle Bay (my favourite spot!!) with my close girlfriends, who I haven’t spent enough time with recently, and now, thankfully I’m back. Happier and inspired!!

These are a few images that touched me in the last week, from various blogs that I enjoy visiting.

I’ll be back soon with more…..

Monday Inspiration from Sania Pell

Hello friends!! I am back home after a very full weekend. It was quite an experience attending the Buffalo River Regatta in East London – about 30 schools participating as well as a few university and club rowing teams. We were so proud as our youngest won ALL her events. She really deserves it after all the effort she put into training. Now she is off to the South African Championships! We stayed with my hubby’s brother and family which made the weekend even more special as we only see them a couple of times a year. A good weekend in all!!

So it’s Monday and I’m back at work getting orders out and doing admin. Hmmmm – Mondays are not my favourite!! I just took a break to visit a few of my favourite blogs and loved what I found over at Sania Pell at Home!! She is such a talented person with the loveliest blog – I find her so inspirational. So of course I have to share!!!

Hellebores are such lovely delicate flowers – rare here in South Africa due to the heat. I tried to grow them once but they never survived. (My gardens always start out well, but never get enough attention and love. A weakness of mine.) Well, Sania has taken the most beautiful photos of these lovelies, and then gone further and painted them too…. I must learn to paint (another thing to add to my list!!)

Please pop on over (here and here) to see her full posts about the hellebores!! Thank you Sania for lifting my monday mood!!

A special place….

Today, my hubby and I are flying away! Where to? Don’t get too excited…. to East London (on the east coast of South Africa). We’re off for the weekend to watch our youngest participate in her first big rowing regatta, and she has high hopes of doing really well. As a bonus – my hubby’s brother lives there so we’ll be having a great family weekend.

So while I’m away I’m leaving you with a photo of one of the special places in my life – Pringle Bay. Soon I will explain it’s significance in our lives… (sorry to keep you in suspense!!)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Creating Monograms..

Today I’ve been working on personalised stationery that is to be a gift for a soon-to-be bride and groom. Such a thoughtful gift to give a couple as they start a life together.

I find the process rather interesting as I always ask after the personality and style of the person who will be using the stationery when working on a design idea. Once I meet with the client I offer a few options and then you see the personality and style of the client coming through too. So what we end up with is a collaboration of styles of the “giver’ and the ‘receiver”. When you think about isn’t that what giving a gift is all about? I think it makes it even more special when so much thought goes into a gift…..

I find monograms such beautiful things -this picture inspired me in my process, and with such lovely colours too. I just had to share!!

Will give you a peek at what I have designed once the lucky couple have received them in a few weeks.
