Ideas Magazine excitement!!

Hello friends!! Whew has my life been busy in the last week!! Let me tell you more….

Last year I was unable to source Bakers Twine anywhere in South Africa, so I ordered some from The Twinery in the USA. I absolutely loved it when it arrived!! I use it for the gift-tags that I make, as well as for packaging of my orders, and I have some other ideas I’ll still be using it for. I decided to “share this joy” with other crafters in South Africa and sell the Twine as part of my product range. You know how it goes – in for a penny, in for a pound – I decided to advertise!!! So I sent a letter to the Ideas Magazine (a beautiful publication for crafters here in South Africa) and placed an ad. Well – the response has been wonderful!! Besides the fact that I am selling Twine (and need to order more stock quickly!) I am also meeting such lovely ladies. It has been a really rewarding experience.

To any of my readers who have ordered Twine from me recently, Thank You for your support, and I hope it brings you as much joy as it did me!!

{Mag}rouge Issue#2 – naturally beautiful…

The second issue of {Mag}rouge is out and, yet again, I am loving it!! These talented gals have put together such a beuatiful publication, highlighting all the natural elements that can be brought into a wedding (or any occasion for that matter).

From Florence to Iceland, Australia and back to their homeland, New Zealand we are taken on a visual feast of lovely weddings, all with their own style and personality. I love the colour story on Ruby and Aqua (remember I did a story of my own in December here), as well as “Brunch by the Beach”, and the Italian elopement is the stuff dreams are made of…

Click here to see {Mag}rouge Issue#2, and in case you missed Issue#1 find it here.

I know it’s all about weddings, by why shouldn’t these lovely ideas and inspiration be used for a birthday party any day of the year? How about a romantic dinner or picnic just for the 2 of you…….

Feast your eyes!!

From my Studio – Colourful Gift-Tags!!

Isn’t it funny how something comes to you when you’re least expecting it….I’ve been meaning to work on a bright, geometric range for a while now, but never got to it.  Then on Tuesday I needed a few tags to attach to some orders that I’m sending out – and this happened!!!

I like to gift-wrap my orders and attach a personal message. This time I was using colourful washi-tape to seal the packages and my existing tags just weren’t going to give the right look, so I “quickly” jumped onto Illustrator and this just happened! I then go so inspired I did a little photoshoot to record the creative process. And now I’m sharing it with you. Enjoy!!

Apologies that I’ve been a bit scarce this week – have been spending some time out-and-about with my folks, and will share some lovely pics with you all next week of another lovely Cape Farm…. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!

A Late Summer Picnic at Boschendal Estate

Hello friends!! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We were extremely lazy, loafing around at home, and on Sunday we popped over the hill to Boschendal for a picnic lunch. It was such a lovely day and I got some great pictures, so here I am sharing them with you all.

We felt like tourists in our own backyard – something we don’t do often enough!! We are truly fortunate to live in such a beautiful corner of the world…..

Here’s wishing you all a fabulous week!!
