stationery eye-candy!!

Hello everyone – I hope that you’re all well and happy today!!

One of my favourite blogs to follow is oh so beautiful paper, which is a lovely American blog that showcases all the latest trends in stationery. It is a wonderful go-to site if you are looking for inspiration for wedding stationery, baby shower invitations or baby announcements. Every year they showcase the National Stationery Show, which is a HUGE trade expo in New York – showcasing just stationery!! Can you image the beautiful array of colours and designs on display!! For the past few weeks we have been seeing some sneak-peeks of a few of the new products that will be on show. I am going to tempt you now with some lovely eye-candy…..

Once again I find myself drawn to Letterpress stationery!! Don’t you love it too?

One day (“when I grow up”) I would love to visit this show!!

letterpress love from studio carta

Hello!! Don’t you just love surprises? I got one last week and was so chuffed.

I got an e-mail from Angela Liguori that immediately got my attention – you know in that way of “someone I really admire is e-mailing ME!!”. To explain – Angela has a business called Studio Carta in Boston. She has THE MOST gorgeous range of products – letterpress stationery, italian cotton ribbon (in every colour you can imagine), wrapping paper, vintage stamps and envelopes and tools. I dream of visiting her shop one day!! Well – it turns out I won a prize on her blog. A lovely set of the most beautiful letterpress cards which arrived in my postbox yesterday. I absolutely love them. One is going into a frame, and the rest will be used very sparingly for very special people!! Aren’t these divine…….

I can’t leave it there – you’ve all got to see her lovely store and ribbons…….

One day I will pop-in Angela and THANK YOU so much for my parcel.

my first handmade notebook

Firstly – note to self : never promise to put something on the blog “tomorrow” unless it is ready!!! I’m so sorry everyone – I got distracted on Friday by Su and Anja who came to visit (for washi tape and a visit with the cutest cat Sam!!) and then we went to Eikendal for a gorgeous lunch….. By the time I got home it was after 4pm!! But is was a wonderful day spent with the loveliest gals!! We will all be together again this coming Saturday the 1st at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch (more about that soon…..)

So – I promised to show you what I made with the gorgeous Japanese paper and washi tape that I have been quietly swooning over! I am trying my hand at making lovely unique notebooks. I am starting out with some lined notebooks which I bought and am “deconstructing” and then “reconstructing” into something really special. The notebooks are hand-stitched, covered in Japanese paper, the spine is “taped” with linen tape, there are envelopes inside to store special things, some translucent pages as dividers – and all very pretty!! This is my first attempt and I am very happy with the result!

I am going to have a few more notebooks ready to have at my stall at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch this coming Saturday!

loving Japanese paper

Hello friends!! I’ve recently discovered the beautiful world of Japanese paper and stationery – and I can’t get enough!! Such beautiful colours and designs, and the paper is so delicate.

A little while ago I placed an order for some beautiful goodies through a Japanese online store by the name of Uguisu that I discoved via the lovely Leslie Shewring (on her blog acreativemint and her column colour me pretty on decor8) . Leslie’s work is always SO inspirational!.  I was so impressed with the speedy service and delivery, and can’t wait to share all my “stuff” with you. I am going to use all this lovely paper and envelopes to make a new range of products that I will be sharing with you soon, but today I just want to give you a (little) peek of a few gorgeous goodies.

I’ve chosen to use greys, coral and pale pink today – in a range of paper, envelopes and washi tape (designer Japanese tape that is even nicer and better quality than the run-of-the-mill washi tape imported from the east!!). Yummy!!!

(all images my own)

So – do you like? Please pop back tomorrow to see what I made today!!! I am excited to make more……..
