washi tape ideas

Hello everyone!! Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our pop-up market yesterday – we had a lovely, successful day.

Of course – with Su here yesterday I was inspired again to play with washi tape!! It’s so exciting to find more and more people getting infected by the washi bug. And the ideas that fly around are great. We sit oohing and aahing over new colours and designs, and create ever-changing combinations. Such fun!! So to share a little inspiration with you all, here are a few more ideas of ways that you can create beautiful stuff with washi tape.

I am also “curating” a board of great ideas over at pinterest. Have a peek!!!

The washi stock list in my shop is updated here – feast your eyes!! (My shop will be closed from the 1st-5th of May so get your orders in quickly!!)

a little washi inspiration from Su Wolf

Hello everyone – I’m hoping you’re all happy people today!! Here in SA we’re leading up to 2 long weekends in a row, so I’m sure there a lot of happy folk here getting ready for some happy holiday breaks!! My poor hubby is working both of the weekends, so we’re escaping to Pringle Bay as and when we can inbetween the work schedule…….

So – today is exciting!!! I am updating my washi tape stock with quite a few lovely new designs!! Take a peek here….

And to get you all into the creative spirit (just before Easter) I’m going to share a few of the (very) talented (and my wonderful friend) Su Wolf’s washi tape card designs!! Su always manages to leave me speechless with her gorgeous creations!! She has become a TOTAL washi addict, and her enthusiasm is totally infectious. Her cards are available on her etsy shop, as well as at The Treasury Market. (and for those of you in Joburg – she’s soon to have a stockist there too!! Watch this space……..)

So – tell me you’re not itching to get a little creative after seeing these lovely cards?

And if some of these designs look yummy, and you can’t find them anywhere in South Africa – I have a BIG announcement soon………

my first handmade notebook

Firstly – note to self : never promise to put something on the blog “tomorrow” unless it is ready!!! I’m so sorry everyone – I got distracted on Friday by Su and Anja who came to visit (for washi tape and a visit with the cutest cat Sam!!) and then we went to Eikendal for a gorgeous lunch….. By the time I got home it was after 4pm!! But is was a wonderful day spent with the loveliest gals!! We will all be together again this coming Saturday the 1st at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch (more about that soon…..)

So – I promised to show you what I made with the gorgeous Japanese paper and washi tape that I have been quietly swooning over! I am trying my hand at making lovely unique notebooks. I am starting out with some lined notebooks which I bought and am “deconstructing” and then “reconstructing” into something really special. The notebooks are hand-stitched, covered in Japanese paper, the spine is “taped” with linen tape, there are envelopes inside to store special things, some translucent pages as dividers – and all very pretty!! This is my first attempt and I am very happy with the result!

I am going to have a few more notebooks ready to have at my stall at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch this coming Saturday!

loving Japanese paper

Hello friends!! I’ve recently discovered the beautiful world of Japanese paper and stationery – and I can’t get enough!! Such beautiful colours and designs, and the paper is so delicate.

A little while ago I placed an order for some beautiful goodies through a Japanese online store by the name of Uguisu that I discoved via the lovely Leslie Shewring (on her blog acreativemint and her column colour me pretty on decor8) . Leslie’s work is always SO inspirational!.  I was so impressed with the speedy service and delivery, and can’t wait to share all my “stuff” with you. I am going to use all this lovely paper and envelopes to make a new range of products that I will be sharing with you soon, but today I just want to give you a (little) peek of a few gorgeous goodies.

I’ve chosen to use greys, coral and pale pink today – in a range of paper, envelopes and washi tape (designer Japanese tape that is even nicer and better quality than the run-of-the-mill washi tape imported from the east!!). Yummy!!!

(all images my own)

So – do you like? Please pop back tomorrow to see what I made today!!! I am excited to make more……..
